Prerequisites: All Basic and Pre-Intermediate classes at Dance Manhattan or the equivalent. For students with strong Pre-Intermediate level knowledge/skills.
This course will focus on everything leaders and followers absolutely need to know in order to dance Tango with authenticity and classic styling. Each individual class will be structured as a self-contained mini-intensive, enabling the student to concentrate each week on one specific topic. We will cover such elements as the perfect lead and follow, the ideal molinete, how to adorn the ocho, Petroleo's famous formula for sacada excellence, el gancho, sacadas de la pierna, alterations -- plus specialized accompaniment skills such as lapis, enrosque, aguja, and rulo.
